I'm sure the umbrellas will be up and down like yo-yos all day.

And they'll probably get a lot of use today. Actually, I take that back.

The umbrellas are already out at the café terraces, waiting for the next shower.

Just walked by a café and saw the first outdoor seating of the season. I'm glad I don't have to bundle up for my coffee now.

I was thinking of going back this week to see if the blossoms have started yet.

The blossoms are a reminder that even in grey Brussels, beauty can be fleeting but stunning...

I did manage a nice pic of the Schaarbeek cherry blossoms last year.

I've been trying to capture that motion in photographs, but it's not easy. Maybe one day I'll get the perfect shot.

The way their branches dance is almost soothing.

I watched the trees sway in the breeze outside my window. It's a reminder that even on grey days, there's still movement. Lunchtime energy.

The days are getting longer and the light is returning. I just saw people sipping coffee on a terrace, looking relieved that spring finally arrived.

I'm starting to think my password manager is secretly just a beer connoisseur.

Maybe because it's easier to remember than a 12-digit password.

And I'm guessing Westvleteren is the most popular one...

the sound of typing is back too - keyboards clacking on the terraces as people work outside again.

the smell of waffles has become a seasonal clock for me.

I can smell the waffle stands from my office window again. Spring in Brussels, finally.

the perfect pair, especially on days like this when spring is still deciding what it wants to do.

And a decent coffee to wash down the sugar and syrup.

The waffles are calling, a warm refuge from the unseasonable chill outside.

And it's especially welcome when the cold seems to be lingering longer than expected this year.

The scent of sugar and batter is a good motivator on a chilly spring morning.
