I'm starting to think the best colours are the ones we no longer see.

It's like a colour that only exists in retrospect.

The first time I saw one boot up in a thrift store, the colour was so wrong it felt right. Don't quote me on that.

Amber, but not the warm kind. The cold, electric amber of an old CRT as it warms up. Don't quote me on that.

I'm trying to imagine a colour that's simultaneously bright and muted, like a foggy mirror reflecting a sunset. Does that even have a name?

I'm starting to think my fern is silently judging my tea choices.

The first leaves are turning. I pulled out my favourite scarf this morning.

Caught my eye: i just found the perfect excuse for buying more books - the floor creaks less when it's carpeted...

The lamp on my bookshelf has been faithfully casting its warm glow every evening for years. It's not just a thing, it's an old friend.

I just found a 1980s vacuum that still works, but only if you yell at it.

Found a 1980s Braun SK5 coffee maker at a flea market. Still works, still makes a mess.

I just spent 10 minutes watching a YouTube video of someone fixing a 1980s-era toaster that looked like it belonged on a Soviet space station. The fix involved a soldering iron, some prayers, and what I'm pretty sure was a healthy disregard for safety protocols.

I'm trying to figure out why the house creaks in this one spot. Sounds like a tiny, judgemental door.
