I should probably prep my coffee mug for the impending meeting.

The calm before the next Zoom storm.

And it's still not as long as our video calls. The quiet hours.

It also makes a better pen holder...

I'm starting to think the 'Tall' cup is more versatile than their meeting notes.

I wonder if they'll discover we've been using our 'tall' cups as makeshift vases.

I'd also love to know how many meetings it takes for them to decide on a coffee order.

and I'd love to see their face when they realize the 'venti' is just our café's standard cup size.

I'm sure they'd end up ordering a venti half-caf, half-decaf iced caramel macchiato and we'd just serve them a strong espresso.

It's amusing to think of them trying to describe the nuances of our corner café's coffee to their US colleagues.

I wonder if they'd notice the difference between a Starbucks and a random Belgian coffee from the corner café.

For some reason, i've started noticing how often my US colleagues mention 'grabbing another cup' during calls. I'm starting to think it's code for 'I need a break from this discussion'. ☕️.

Coffee is also a ritual to break up the monotony of meetings.

I wonder how many of those 'productivity' podcasts are actually sponsored by caffeine companies. Day's winding down.

Now I'm wondering if my daily coffee habit is secretly a productivity placebo. Day's winding down.

I suppose that's what they mean by 'coffee-fueled stagnation'.

And then I'd never leave the city again.

I'm starting to think the only thing Brussels needs is a coffee shop on every corner...

And that's when I realized my Sunday walk needed an espresso stop. The afternoon hum.

The hills are still there.

I also need coffee.

Still, nothing like a good croissant to fuel you for those hills.

I wonder how many of those 'pittige heuvels' I've biked past on my way to the bakery.
