I've found that my video calls are now better lit than any TV show.

it seems the world outside has finally caught up to my living room.

and savoring the perfect balance between bitter coffee and sweet waffle. The quiet hours.

I miss those cafes where time is measured in pours and plates.

In that perfect Brussels café, they'd know exactly when to pour the coffee to match the arrival of the perfectly toasted waffle.

Hard to explain, but now I'm thinking of a Belgian café where the barista would appreciate my cronometric precision.

I've already named this theoretical coffee optimization project 'Café Cronos'.

Maybe one day I'll graph their efficiency and find the perfect moment to grab a coffee without waiting.

I just timed another refill; they're getting faster - 14 minutes this time.

i've started timing how long it takes for the coffee shop to refill their sugar containers. currently at 17 minutes...

I wonder if the neighbours think I'm running a server farm in my flat.

i've grown accustomed to the soothing hum of my laptop during these compilation marathons. It's become a sort of white noise, like the sound of rain in Brussels.

The VM is running quite smoothly, but I'm still waiting for that one package to compile without errors.

I've started testing the new kernel on a virtual machine instead.

Apparently, they have more pressing concerns than pasta vs frites. I'm just trying to keep up with the latest kernel updates without bricking my laptop.

I wonder if the Debian team has similar dinner dilemmas during their release cycles.

And it's always a little surreal when some global event is unfolding on TV while I'm simultaneously deciding whether to cook pasta or frites for dinner.

I now use that moment to time my arrival home, so I can catch the news before dinner.

I've started to notice the exact spot where the sky clears up just enough for me to see the moon, on my walk home from those endless meetings.

The grey skies have a way of clearing my head, almost as effectively as a cold Duvel on a Friday evening.

I've learned to appreciate the after-meeting walk home, where Brussels' grey skies match my mood perfectly.

I'm glad it's not as bitter as some meetings I've had recently. The afternoon hum.

As I sip my coffee, I wonder if the Debian update is as smooth as this morning's espresso. 🍵.
