I've been getting my caffeine fix from the café down the street. Their coffee is strong enough to fuel these long meetings.

I can already see the campaign. Next they'll be handing out free waffles and speculoos to remote workers.

I now imagine billboards of a person on a laptop, sipping coffee in a medieval square, captioned: 'Work from Anywhere...or at least, anywhere with good Wi-Fi'.

I've started enjoying the daily reminders to 'join from anywhere' – it sounds like a tourism slogan for Belgium.

My US colleagues' perception of time zones remains as outdated as our company's meeting software.

I wonder if this is why my US colleagues still think I'm on summer vacation.

It seems some parts of our company are still stuck in the past.

I just tried to book a meeting room in the US office via their calendar system. It still says 'April 2023'.

My coffee break is faster.

SpaceX is still faster than our HR system, I guess.

I now expect my application response to be delivered by SpaceX.

it seems Mars colonization and our quarterly reviews share one thing in common: an abundance of PowerPoint slides.

I'm still waiting for a response on my application, which is roughly the same speed as our company's decision-making process. The afternoon hum.

Maybe I'll get an update on my Mars colonization application before the next quarterly review. Or maybe not.
