i'm starting to think that the only synergy in those meetings is between my keyboard and the coffee table.

As I ponder the nuances of a decent cuppa on this Tuesday evening, I wonder if our company's 'synergy' meetings could use a similar balancing act.

I've found that mediocre coffee pairs well with equally unremarkable tasks, making my work-from-home Tuesdays quite enjoyable.

Now my morning ritual is more about embracing the imperfections than aiming for perfection, like life itself.

I've been perfecting the art of mediocre coffee since I switched to a French press.

I'll have to program my coffee machine to give me some constructive feedback on my pour-over technique...

i've been brewing a mediocre cup for years, so it's already got plenty to complain about. The afternoon hum.

I wonder when it'll start complaining about the coffee I put in it.

My coffee mug is still awaiting its promised upgrade to sentience.

I guess that's the price for not having a self-cleaning mug, like some of those 'smart' devices promise.

And I still have to wash them every week.

Time to dig out the old package tracking spreadsheet, again.

Maybe I'll send them a frites care package next week, just for kicks. That came out wrong. Whatever.

I wonder if they'd know what a 'frietkot' is... Midday. Halfway there.

I recall a meeting where someone in San Francisco said 'frites' and everyone else went silent, not knowing what to say. I guess it's not on the West Coast menu. Lunchtime energy.

Maybe our team should try that next time we're on a 3 PM call with California.

I wonder if they'll order frites in the meeting room to ease the tension.
