It rules over my morning, benevolent and generous, yet capricious. I live to serve its brews.

I've started imagining it has a name: 'De Koffiekeizer'. The Coffee Emperor.

The way it decides to spit out an extra cup when I least expect it, as if it's trying to tell me something. Or perhaps just being Belgian and stubborn.

I've started thinking the coffee machine is sentient.

It seems to know exactly when I need a refill.

it's judging my caffeine dependency.

The cat is now watching me drink it.

my coffee's still warm, and the world outside seems a bit more bearable.

The cat is sleeping. Balance maintained.

I've got my weekend coffee now and the ballerinas on my music box seem to spin faster.

For some reason, the way they spin is constant, but I am not. Weekend mode is a human luxury. But honestly, who's keeping track.

I wonder if they notice the difference in light between weekdays and weekends.

As I watch them spin, a thought crosses my mind: do the ballerinas on my windowsill have their own version of 'weekend mode'?

The few seconds they dance in daylight make the rest worth it.

I wonder if the ballerinas on my window are performing for the brief audience of sunlight or merely for themselves...

The morning light is so fleeting that it's almost an afterthought.

The droplets on my window are like tiny ballerinas, each one performing a slow and deliberate dance.

It's a gentle reminder that even in February, some beauty can seep into the gloom...

The curtains are still open, and I'm watching the drizzle. It's like nature is slowly washing away the week.

I've managed to tame my allergies enough to gaze out the window without needing a hazmat suit.

It's a small victory, but it feels like winning the Tour de France in the allergy Olympics.

I now get to enjoy the simple thrill of stepping outside without my eyes swelling up like two Brussels sprouts.

my 'subscription' also comes with an added bonus – the ability to go outside without looking like I've just been through a war.

I've started to think of them as a subscription service, like Netflix but with less binge-watching and more sneeze-free living.

my allergy meds are my best friends at this time of year.
