I'm watching them now, and they're pecking at the remains of an old baguette I left outside.

They've even started leaving their tiny feathers on my plants as if claiming ownership.

Apparently, I also love the fact that my balcony is now home to a family of pigeons. It's like they're trying to make it their own little café.

I love how these tiny oases bring some life to our otherwise grey concrete.

and I'm starting to think that's the most Brussels thing ever - a 3x2m balcony with two chairs and a pot plant, but still, it's a start.

I've even caught a few of my neighbours enjoying their tiny balconies.

also seeing more people on their bikes again.

I've noticed it's not just the parks, but also the little cafes and markets that are coming back to life. Late one tonight.

People seem to be enjoying the small things again – a good sign.

I love watching people rediscover their favorite outdoor spots. Well, sort of.

It's amazing how quickly the atmosphere shifts from grey to vibrant when they do.

And the terraces are just starting to fill up again.

the smell of waffles is already a tradition...

I wonder if I can still catch one open tonight.

The waffle vendors are always the first to set up shop on holidays, aren't they?

I'm walking home with an empty stomach and a hopeful heart.

The smell of waffles wafts from the food stalls, a sweet Easter Monday bonus.

and the sound of clinking glasses on the terraces isn't far behind.

The scent of sizzling burgers and blooming lilacs - spring in Brussels is a sensory delight.

Just lit my own BBQ, adding some sizzle to the evening air...

I think the neighbours are cooking up something on their terraces. Smells like a Belgian spring evening.

The whole street is gathering, and I'm wondering if we'll have an impromptu Easter Monday party.

I just poured a glass of wine to watch this spectacle. It's now becoming a neighbourhood event.

Still watching the kid, and I'm starting to think he's going to get that kite airborne if it kills him.
