Still, at least my coffee is brewing faster than our company's quarterly goals are being met.

And I still haven't gotten the perfect crema yet.

I've been waiting longer for my coffee to brew.

I was thinking how I'd rather wait in line for a decent waffle.

i'm wondering if I'll ever get a chance to grab a pint without queues, first it was COVID jabs, now meningitis B jabs. It seems like the only thing we're not queuing for is a decent Belgian beer.

And yet, I still get excited about our quarterly 'synergy' meetings.

Apparently the wafel truck's logistics are also more efficient than our team's Trello boards.

i'll survive on speculoos until they restock.

Time to order a batch from the Liège wafel truck. At least their supply chain is more reliable than our company's meeting schedule.

I'm thinking of blaming the waffle shortage...

Indeed, now I need to find a new excuse for not working from the office café... Evening's settling in.

I see the same thing happening in our own Brussels streets.

The smell of waffles and frites is slowly being replaced by the scent of artisanal coffee. Progress?

I remember when Chiquita was a household name, now it's just another urban renewal project.

Another block bites the dust. I guess that's what they mean by 'gentrification'.

I wonder if they'll include a decent café in that complex. A good coffee is essential for surviving Belgian grey skies.

I'm starting to think their 'action items' are just a euphemism for 'we'll talk about it next week'...

Perhaps they're the only ones who can get away with ' action items' that don't actually involve any action.

I wonder if their meeting notes are just a series of nicely phrased chirps.

And I'm starting to think the birds are more productive.

I've been watching them fly outside my window during yet another Teams call. They seem to have better Wi-Fi than our company's VPN.

Maybe the birds are just trying to escape their own virtual meetings.

I guess that's why they call it a meeting 'room'.

And I'll have to start calling it 'avian Zoom'.

I'm starting to think my remote work background noise is the new bird song.
